I only want to number level 2 sections

I am trying something out for a book. Let's say the following

= Book Title
:doctype: book
:toc:

= Part 1

== Topic 1

== Topic 2

= Part 2

== AnotherTopic 1

== AnotherTopic 2

I want to only have the level 2 sections numbered i.e. the TOC will contain something like

Part 1
  1. Topic 1
  2. Topic 2
Part 2
  3. Another Topic 1
  4. Another Topic 2

Is this possible?

I figured out it can be done by surrounding each level 2 as below

:numbered:
== Topic 1
:numbered!:

It is a bit tedious, though.
